ABOUT THIS EVENT
At Granite Man, every kid gets a shirt and a prize!
Your kid’s can choose to participate in either a “just for fun,” un-timed triathlon or duathlon event or they can be timed, just like mom and dad. The kid’s timed race will start after most of the adults have finished their race approx. 12:00am. The swim will start on the far right of swim area at Hart-Tish park and go along the shore to T1. Then from T1 kids will transition and start the bike section the same as the adults. Once the kids make it to the Hart-Tish boat launch they will head up and out of the park. When they get to the main road they will head right towards the dam and across the dam. The will head out past the dam for about a mile or so then turn around and head back to T1 the same way they came out. The run portion will start from T1 and head out toward the Hart-Tish boat launch and connect with a trail that heads back up to the main road and then connects back in with the trail that heads towards the lake to the finish.
The kids untimed tri/du will follow the same course as the kids timed race. The swim will start closer to the Transition area and the kids are allowed to run in the water if they are waist deep. The bike section will turn around just before the dam and head back. The run will head out of transition and do a loop around the grass section of Hart-Tish and into the finish.
This is a great and safe way to include your kid’s in a healthy and fun event! Everyone is a winner at Granite Man.
